ABOUT
Olivia Wileman (b.1994) is an artist currently living and working in Nottingham.
Olivia’s paintings explore the relationship between colour, form and composition. Working through layered surfaces, geometric shapes and fragmented structures, the work balances considered mark-making with a sense of spontaneity and movement.
Drawing on a restrained yet expressive palette, each painting develops through the accumulation of layers, shapes and textures, creating a tension between structure and softness. There is an ongoing interest in how simple forms can shift in meaning through scale, placement and colour, resulting in compositions that feel both intuitive and carefully resolved.
The work is rooted in a process of experimentation, allowing each painting to evolve organically while maintaining a strong sense of balance, space and rhythm.
